Overview

With a holistic approach to integrating mind, body, and spirit, this camp teaches children how to nurture their inner world. We live in a modern society that places value on nurturing the mind and body. Dancing Jaguar's Spirit Camp teaches children how to nurture their hearts and spirit.

We like to tell children that when they are at school, they are nurturing their minds; when they play sports they are nurturing their bodies; and when they attend Spirit Camp, they are nurturing their spirit -- that wonderful essence that makes each child a unique, beautiful individual.

When children are encouraged to trust their intuition, honor their truth, and speak from the heart, they can develop their inner compass and trust themselves to make choices in high school and beyond that will sustain them.

Ancient healing practices and modern holistic techniques are combined to introduce the curriculum using numerous methods such as storytelling, crafts, activities, games, and spending time in nature.

Children are introduced to guided visualizations to help them identify their inner critic and inner champion, breathing techniques, the law of attraction, an attitude of gratitude, working with chakras and auras, shamanic journeying, mindfulness, discovering power animals, and much more!

Religion is not a part of Spirit Camp. Children are exposed to mindfulness, meditation, and other modalities that assist them in connecting to their inner world, but religious dogma is not included in the curriculum. Rather than learning to use a set of rules to navigate the ups and downs of life, children develop their inner compass. By learning to listen to their inner voice, they come to trust themselves to make choices that will sustain minds, bodies, and spirits. Spirituality is present at Spirit Camp as children explore the essence of who they are, and the essence of all living things.

This unique program offers children a profound opportunity to experience a deeper awareness of who they are while they are having fun and playing games in a non-competitive, supportive environment.

"Spirit Camp gave my child a key to start unlocking the mystery of who she is."  -a Spirit Camp parent

Spirit Camp places a strong emphasis on its commitment to the natural environment. Every day, campers spend time outdoors exploring the environment. They will enhance their sense of the world around them by paying close attention to what they hear, see, and feel.

Learn how to provide children with tools that will nurture their spirits for the rest of their lives.  This training applies to any situation where you work with kids such as children’s yoga or as part of educational classes in your community.  Click below to find a Teacher Training program near you.

"We feel so incredibly blessed to have you in our lives!  You are an inspiration and valuable resource, not just to us, but to all the children and families that you impact through your work.  We are so grateful for the Dancing Jaguar's Inspiration!"

"My eight-year-old son has had an amazing experience since attending Spirit Camp. The value of being present in the moment in an age where things are fast and furious and technology captivates is critical. Eva's ability to nurture and teach these children skills to slow down, learn about nature, and access their creativity is priceless. She has a real gift for working with children. Connor has learned so much from this experience that will positively impact his interactions with others, nature, and processing and dealing with his own emotions. We have seen him blossom. Eva's teachings are an asset for any young person with the opportunity to attend!"

"Eva’s mission with bringing spirit camp to the younger generation is inspiring! Her passion to teach, reach, and build up our children is a breath of fresh air.  The movement has started and she is a warrior! My daughter absolutely LOVED camp and all the activities that were planned.  Each day was jam packed with exciting games, crafts, stories, and explorations! I found myself hanging around for periods of time to be a part of all the fun! At the end of the week, not only was I emailed resources BUT I purchased books and tools to further my family’s learning! Thank you, Eva, can’t wait for next summer!"

Dancing Jaguar Spirit Camp was by far my daughter's favorite camp of the summer. She couldn’t wait to arrive in the morning and came home so excited about what she had learned.  As a parent and a psychotherapist, I can’t stress the significance of having a camp like this available to kids. I have seen a dramatic increase in anxiety, fear, social challenges, and depression. My child learned and absorbed more this week than she has in the past 6 months of therapy. I believe this is for a number of reasons: having peers learn with her and it is normalized and fun, Eva and her instructors being so kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable, and because it involves a spiritual component that is so absent in our curriculum and therapeutic approaches. This camp pulled all of that together and delivered it in a positive, engaging space.

The confidence, contentment, and peace she experienced during this week were so beautiful and necessary.  I sincerely hope that this specific camp continues year after year. It is just so needed and important- more than ever.
