Camp Poketto (inspired by Pokemon Universe)
June 11-14, 9am-noon
Trainers! Grab your poke balls and join us as we spend the week encountering and collecting wild pokemon! Will we get to see them evolve? Art projects for the week will be inspired by the Pokemon Universe. We may even encounter Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur!

The Mayflower Arts Center is pleased to unveil its SEVENTH season with OVER 24 fun and creative camps and workshops for artists of ALL AGES! Each art camp is designed to heighten the imaginations of our artists through creative and technical exploration, incorporating techniques learned through both individual and collaborative works. At the conclusion of the camp, each artist will have the opportunity to present and exhibit their creations in a Gallery Exhibit/Artist Reception on Friday evening. The Gallery Exhibit will be open to the public. Friends and families are always encouraged to attend. Select artworks will be on display at the conclusion of the camp season in our Kids Art Show: The Best of Summer Art Camps Exhibit, August 10-24.

My daughter has been attending art classes at the Mayflower for years. Her first summer camp experience was in 2016 and she loved it! Lisa, the instructor, plans each week's camp around a fun, kid-friendly theme and then packs the week with unique art projects that let the children experience multiple art mediums. My daughter attended several different weeks - all with different projects. At the end of each week, there is a kids art show to show off their creations. The fantastic thing about these art camps is, not only do they learn about art, but after the camp is over they have their artwork as souvenirs from their time spent at the Mayflower! The facility is the old Mayflower movie theatre in downtown Troy - which hosts paint parties, improv, local musicians and more. The summer camps are held in a meeting room inside, just to the left of the main lobby - it's an art-filled room and the perfect space for making messy art with kids! I highly recommend the Mayflower Arts Center as a valuable art venue for children's art education in Troy. We're already signed up for this year's camps!!
