South End Surf N Paddle

This is South End Surf N Paddle’s 11th year running surf camp, surf lessons, and sup eco-tours. Our prices have remained the same! Our instructors are top notch with a love of the water they are eager to share with you! They are all CPR and first-aid certified. We are fully insured. Our equipment is first class! We comply with all CDC guidelines to offer a safe experience.

Surf Camp
Our 3-4 day weekly surf camp believes the key to surfing is a strong foundation of water safety and knowledge while having fun!  The camps are intended for ages 7 - 14. The camp runs June, July, and August. Starts every Tuesday. Price includes surfboard and wetsuit.

Day 1 – 2 hours. Done on flat water. Objectives for this day are learning the board, paddling the board, sitting on the board, turning on the board, duck diving, turtling, and determining what size board is best. Skills learned – The Pop Up; Beach and Water Training; Board Rescue

Day 2 – 2 hours. Today is a day of achievement, learning balance, maneuvering, and standing on the board for long periods of time. We use stand-up paddle boards for this exercise. (Other family members and friends are welcome to sign-up to attend this class since we start everybody with a fresh lesson.)

Day 3 – 2 hours. On the ocean. Now that the student has board skills we will learn to get through the waves, deal with currents, and other natural occurrences. Goals for the day are to get to and from the beach, through the surf, and into the line-up, as well as to learn to catch the waves and determine where you want to be on it and in which direction you want to go. We will learn to stand and learn in which direction to ride. Most students will have a very rewarding wave-riding day.
