Heritage Village Museum

Immersive History Camp 1

Camp Description
Campers will be immersed in 19th Century life. Each day will bring new theme and a new challenge for campers. Each theme and activity is tied to everyday life of an early 19th Century Cincinnatian. Many details in our daily life get taken for granted. Things such as getting water could be fraught with difficulty and danger. Adequate food was never a guarantee. Personal and family safety was as well. Learning to exist in early Cincinnati was quite literally a matter of life and death. Campers will be immersed in learning the skills of our pioneer forefathers and mothers. Historical events of the period will be addressed as well. Campers will meet Native Americans, soldiers, traders, and the common people that carved out an existence in Southwest Ohio.
