My daughter has been attending art classes at the Mayflower for years. Her first summer camp experience was in 2016 and she loved it! Lisa, the instructor, plans each week's camp around a fun, kid-friendly theme and then packs the week with unique art projects that let the children experience multiple art mediums. My daughter attended several different weeks - all with different projects. At the end of each week, there is a kids art show to show off their creations. The fantastic thing about these art camps is, not only do they learn about art, but after the camp is over they have their artwork as souvenirs from their time spent at the Mayflower! The facility is the old Mayflower movie theatre in downtown Troy - which hosts paint parties, improv, local musicians and more. The summer camps are held in a meeting room inside, just to the left of the main lobby - it's an art-filled room and the perfect space for making messy art with kids! I highly recommend the Mayflower Arts Center as a valuable art venue for children's art education in Troy. We're already signed up for this year's camps!!
