Tidewater Community College

This camp will aid high school students and student athletes in their planning for college and, if applicable, collegiate sports. Students will complete an interest/skills assessment to identify options for major areas of study and career/vocational areas then search post-secondary programs to support that career goal. Admission items will be prepared e.g. essays, personal statements, etc. as needed. SAT and ACT programs will be explored including test dates, prep programs, and practice tests.

Academic and Athletic Portfolios will be developed for use with admission and scholarship applications as well as athletic recruitment packages. This will place students in prime position to complete applications as needed by having the information at the ready thus increasing chances of awards. Student athletes will set up their online NCAA account.

Students will actively research a variety of local, state, and national financial aid and scholarship programs including the federal Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Specific high school websites will be explored for pertinent scholarships and awards.
